Database Cleanup – Clean the WordPress Database Safely
Cleanup
Database junk and the plugin that left it behind.
Finds the settings and tables removed plugins left behind, the options that load on every page view, orphaned data and clutter. Report first; only what you tick is cleaned.
Free
- Leftovers of removed plugins and themes, named by plugin
- Largest autoloaded options with their owner; autoload can be turned off while the value is kept
- Orphaned post, comment, term and user meta
- Revisions, old auto-drafts, spam, trash and expired transients
- Every table with owner, size and overhead
Free in full: Clearyvo Pro adds nothing to this checker.
Good to Know
- Make a database backup before cleaning: deleted rows cannot be restored from inside WordPress.
- Dropping tables is not offered, because a wrong guess cannot be undone.
Where to Get It
Available two ways: as the separate plugin Database Cleanup, or as a module of the Site Toolkit plugin. They share settings and results.
WordPress 6.2, PHP 7.4. English interface.
How to Clean Up the WordPress Database
- Install the free Clearyvo Database Cleanup plugin (WordPress.org or the Download page), or Site Toolkit and switch on Database Cleanup under Site Toolkit → Modules.
- Open Database Cleanup in the WordPress admin (under Site Toolkit when you use more than one checker) and run the check. It works in short steps, so it finishes on shared hosting and large sites too.
- Read the report. Nothing on the site changes until you tick an item and confirm.
